My older son, Joshua, was prompted by my husband this morning to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day. Andrew, my husband, said “tell mommy what we practiced” and out of my 2-year-old’s mouth comes “Happy Birthday, Mama”. How could I not love that?! As Mother’s Days go, it was fine. Joshua finally got the hang [...]
I was in New York earlier this week and got to LaGuardia airport yesterday afternoon about 2 1/2 hours before my flight was supposed to depart (not because I’m a fan of being at the airport early but because the trade show I was at had ended so we figured we’d just head to the [...]
My hyacinths are blooming! All this rain has helped (and made the grass really green). I love the first flowers of spring and now that we’re in May I’m anxiously awaiting my daffodils and, later in the summer, my peonies.
The Swine Flu has apparently made it to Milwaukee. The local news was all a-twitter (pun intended) with the two “probable” cases of it here. Four schools have been closed as a result. Yes, this is serious but it seems like the local news channels are giddy with excitement about the fact that it’s happening [...]
Much has been written lately about finding your raving fans and empowering them to rave about you. Well, I think the Milwaukee Brewers have already started developing a raving fan in my 2 year old. He is absolutely obsessed with baseball, loves watching for Bernie Brewer to slide down from his clubhouse on TV, and even [...]
It was a rough weekend at the Krier household. First of all yours truly came down with strep throat. I had been feeling a bit under the weather already on Thursday but I figured it was nothing a couple of Tylenol every couple of hours couldn’t cure. Well by the time Saturday morning rolled around [...]
I am not like my mother when it comes to housekeeping. She (and one of my aunts for that matter) are kind of obsessive when it comes to cleaning. My mom works 2 days a week and spends the other 3 weekdays cleaning…..and seems happy to do so. I, on the other hand, can barely [...]
Here’s what sucks about living in Wisconsin, especially in spring: 43 degrees and snow showers one day, then up to the high ’70s a mere three days later.
Apparently the Milwaukee Zoo has acquired several meerkats! That’s exciting news for the Krier family as we are frequent visitors to the zoo, with a trip actually planned for tomorrow. My older one will be very interested in this new attraction so I can’t wait to take him. Plus it’s supposed to be a beautiful day [...]
My husband received his driver license renewal notification in the mail today. What struck me as funny was the title – “8 Year Driver License Renewal Application”. Eight years?!?! Does the DMV not realize how much someone can change location, appearance, etc., in one year muchless eight? I, for example, got married (so a name [...]
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?
