Much has been written lately about finding your raving fans and empowering them to rave about you. Well, I think the Milwaukee Brewers have already started developing a raving fan in my 2 year old. He is absolutely obsessed with baseball, loves watching for Bernie Brewer to slide down from his clubhouse on TV, and even [...]
Our AMA-Milwaukee chapter held a different kind of luncheon program yesterday. Instead of bringing in a speaker to share his/her experiences or a case study, we held a reverse panel. This consisted of four local non-profit organizations who shared their marketing challenges with the attendees who, in turn, provided suggetions to the panel. Our panel [...]
I ran to Cousins to grab a quick lunch today and was talking with a co-worker about Cousins vs Subway when the discussion turned to bread. Now at Subway you are asked right off the bat what kind of bread you want. Interesting that Cousins, whose tagline is “Better Bread, Better Subs” has a variety [...]
Check out this crazy article. Apparently a doctoral student right here in Wisconsin came up with a way to transmit your thoughts right into your Twitter stream — no typing required!
I’ve been following this story and what’s more interesting to me than Ashton beating CNN as the first to have 1,000,000 followers on Twitter is the fact that Oprah Winfrey was not on Twitter until yesterday. Really? No one on her staff had suggested she tweet? And no one on her staff was tweeting on [...]
I know many companies out there are facing this issue, and with social media and social networking still being relatively new as far as application in the business world goes, there’s not a library of case studies to reference. So where is the line between allowing your employees to participate vs monitoring or even preventing [...]
I’ve been a member of AMA-Milwaukee chapter for the past several years and am currently serving as the president. Each president likes to put their stamp on the organization, to make their mark in a certain way, and I’m no different. Our chapter has made great progress the past several years and is on track to keep that [...]
The company I work for does recruitment process outsourcing and is known for being on the cutting-edge of technology. To help our recruiters maintain that reputation, we are holding a series of brown bag sessions to educate them on the various social media tools in existence that could help them source candidates more quickly and efficiently. I [...]
There’s a lot of buzz out there these days about raving fans. Ken Blanchard wrote a book about it (which I admit I have not read yet), and Jeremy Epstein blogs about this topic frequently as well. My question is – can someone be a raving fan without actually being a customer of the company? [...]
I was watching The Biggest Loser last night (one of my fave shows, for those of you who know me) and was only half paying attention to the commercials as I was trying to get some other stuff done. Anyway, a commercial caught my eye because I hadn’t seen it before and it was interesting. All [...]
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?
