I was having an interesting conversation with my brother-in-law last night. He’s very techie and whenever I have a technical question he’s who I turn to. Anyway, we were talking about social media and what kind of aggregator I use. I was saying that I use HootSuite for Twitter and ping.fm for everything else. He pulled out his netbook to show me digsby which is what he uses. We agreed that people who say they waste too much time on social media are likely those people not using one of these applications and instead are updating Facebook separately from LinkedIn separate from Twitter. So the question is, what do you use and how much time do you spend updating your statuses?
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?

When I do status updates, I send them to Twitter, which will also post them to Facebook and Plaxo.
I also have blog updates post straight to Twitter (which again will distribute them to Facebook and Plaxo).
I don’t spend a lot of time making status updates… but I do log on to Facebook routinely to read and comment on other’s statuses.
