I was on vacation last week and obviously didn’t blog during that time, nor did I Tweet. I did post to Facebook numerous times, though. And that, combined with a conversation I had with a co-worker the week prior, got me to thinking about which social media site is my favorite. My co-worker made the observation that some people are more comfortable on Twitter as they are direct and straight to the point. As for himself, he’s much more comfortable blogging as he’s got too much to say to squeeze into 140 characters. And me? I think I’m somewhere in between. I wasn’t a big fan of Facebook originally but now I really like it. It’s so easy to keep up with friends and family and it’s a nice mix between personal and business. So……which social media site do YOU prefer and why?
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?

I think each social media medium has it’s audience. Twitter is shaping up to be a formidable way to solidify your brand while Facebook really hasn’t generated much revenue from business. As I see it, Facebook is a great way to connect to others you haven’t seen in a while or communicate some tidbit or post pictures of something you’ve done or seen recently. Twitter on the other hand, has handily alienated the teens and has been declared for use by teens for “old folks”. Well, “old folks” are the movers and shakers of the economy and have figured how to harness the best aspects of tweeting or using twitter effectively for enhancing marketing or increasing positive sentiment amongst the brand.
