I’ve been doing some research recently to find a provider that can tell me what the buzz is online about my employer. One of the great ones I’ve come across so far is Techrigy. Unfortunately with the free version you’re limited to 5 inquiries and 1,000 results, I believe. I set up the account for my employer but with a name that pulls results for a New York baseball team as well as an article of clothing, I didn’t set up my filters quickly enough to filter out the unrelated search results and blew through the 1,000 results in no time. The cool thing about them is that if you blog about them and send them the link, they will give you the ability to extend your free subscription. This is my test to see if that works. It looks like a great tool — not only tells you who is talking about your brand, but where (blog, Twitter, etc.), the tone, if the comments are positive, neutral or negative, etc. Let’s hope I receive the extension so I can properly assess the tool.
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?
