Late this afternoon the sky was looking ominous and one of my coworkers said his girlfriend sent him a text message to tell him there was a tornado warning in effect. I went back to my desk to check it out. But did I pull up weather.com or even our local paper online? No, I immediately went to Twitter and, sure enough, people in the Milwaukee area were tweeting about the current conditions. That led me to follow the weather Twitter accounts for two of the local television stations. I wonder how many others out there are turning directly to Twitter instead of turning to their old standbys for news and information like this? Interesting.
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?

Interesting– I’m not quite there yet. I still go to wunderground.com. BUT— I have very few people I follow that live in my area. A vast majority of the people I follow are 4+ hours away– so that makes Twitter a less appealing source for localized news for me.
