The company I work for does recruitment process outsourcing and is known for being on the cutting-edge of technology. To help our recruiters maintain that reputation, we are holding a series of brown bag sessions to educate them on the various social media tools in existence that could help them source candidates more quickly and efficiently. I love being in an environment that encourages their employees to continuously keep learning and is serious about professional development. What’s even better is working with people who are genuinely interested in adding to their skillsets and are not content just doing what they’ve always done. We’ve had great interest from staff about the upcoming session on using Twitter for recruiting, for example, and we’re also doing a quick lunch session on Friday on how RSS feeds work. I think our company would make an interesting case study on how companies have embraced social media.
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?
