I came across this interesting article on Twitter vs Facebook and how different social media sites are used by different groups of people based on age, location, etc. My goddaughter, for example, invited me to join Hi5 a year or so ago but I didn’t know anyone else using it so I never did anything. From what I’ve read, it seems to be more popular in Europe.
But what was really interesting to me was the comment about personal branding and business branding colliding. I was just having a conversation with a former boss yesterday about my purpose in starting a blog and how it was partly driven by the need to develop my personal brand. But with so many people starting blogs now to do just that, how long before it’s not something that differentiates you anymore? And what’s next on the horizon? Any ideas?
The Daily Krier is running commentary on what's happening in my life on a regular basis. I write about things that interest me -- my family, my hobbies, my career in marketing. The blog was born from my interest in writing, my need to become more involved in all things related to social media, and my desire to start on my personal brand. The blog title is a play on my last name. It's technically pronounced "kreer" but everyone pronounces it as "cry-er". The mis-pronounciation lends itself extremely well to the title, don't you think?
